My Daughter and I went to a Symphony Show House one Sunday and this was the Dessert we had and it was SOOO good. Lucky for us they were selling the recipe.


1 Cup Butter
4 Eggs, Beaten
2 Cups Sugar
½ Cup Flour
½ t. Salt
½ Cup Cocoa
2 t. Vanilla
1 Cup Chopped Nuts- Optional
Vanilla Ice Cream or Cool Whip


Preheat oven to 350°.

Melt Butter, set aside to cool. Combine Eggs and Sugar, then stir in cooled Butter and remaining ingredients and blend well. Pour into buttered 9“ square pan which has been set into a larger pan for a water bath. Pour Hot Water to a depth of 1” into larger pan.

Bake 1 hour, Cool slightly and cut into squares.


Yields: 9-12 servings

Seerve Warm topped with Ice Cream or cool to room temp and top with whipped topping.
