The trick to this fruit pie is Load it up- Apple PieOVERFILL with the apples, they will reduce as they bake.

6 Large, Firm Tart Apples
¾ - 1 Cup Sugar

1. Preheat oven to 425°

2. In large bowl, combine Sugar, Cinnamon, Salt, Nutmeg, and Flour, Set this aside

3. Peel and core Apples and slice

4. Toss slices into the Sugar mixture, coating well

5. Place Pie crust into pie

6.Put coated Apple Sliced into Pie Shell and dot with the Butter

7. Lay 2nd Pie Shell on top and crimp edges together all around and take a knife and put slices in top to vent.

8. Bake 10 minutes at 425° then reduce heat to 350° and bake an additional 30-40 minutes till Apples are tender.

Apple Pie can be served hot with Ice Cream or serve Cold with Cool Whip. Some like it with Carmel.

Good Tart Apples are the way to go- I usually use Granny Smith.
