We serve 2 kinds of goulash around here, one I grew up with and 1 that is more like Larry remembers. I had never heard of beans in Goulash till I met him.

This is my simple method

1 Lb. Hamburger Meat
? Package Elbow Macaronni
½ Cup Ketchup or more
2 t. Williams Chili Seasoning
Salt and Pepper


Brown Hamburger Meat, at same time bring a saucepan of water to boil and add the Macaroni to cook according to package. Drain Meat after it has browned, return to pan and Salt and Pepper to taste. Stir in Ketchup, and Chili Seasoning, add cooked and drained Noodles and there you are.

Bannon Method is basically the same except cut ketchup back to ¼ cup and add 1 can Chili or Ranch Beans and use Tomato Juice to add moisture.


I always serve this with Instant Mashed Potatoes. Long story on that one.  But it makes a quick and easy dinner.
