This is one of those special occasion cakes. Takes some work but definitely worth the effort.

3/4 Cup Butter

2 Cups Sugar 

2 Eggs Seperated

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

1 Cup Sour Cream

1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1 Package Dream Whip Mix

2 Cups Flour

3/4 Cup Cocoa

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1 3oz Chocolate Fudge Instant Pudding Mix

1 1/4 Cups Half and Half

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. In a medium bowl Cream the Butter and Sugar

3. Add the Egg Yolks and Vanilla and beat one minute on high -set this aside

4. In another bowl beat Egg Whites till soft peaks form

5. Fold in the Sour Cream, Baking Soda and Dream Whip Mix into the beaten Egg Whites

6. Fold the Sour Cream Mixture into the Butter Mixture

7. In a 3rd Bowl mix together the Flour, Cocoa, Baking Powder and Chocolate Pudding Mix

8. Add this alternately with the Half and Half into the batter mixture

9. Beat this two minutes on High with the mixer

10. Pour this into 2 greased and floured 8" cake pans

11. Bake for 35- 40 minutes

12. Remove from oven and let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes then turn out and cool completly

FROSTING RECIPE

6 Tablespoons Softened Butter

3/4 Cup Cocoa

1 Teaspoon Vanilla

3 Cups Powdered Sugar

1/3 Cup Half and Half

Directions:

1. Cream the Butter, add the Cocoa and Sugar alternately with the Half and Half, beat this till smooth with electric mixer.

Frost the cake and stand back and accept the compliments
